When academia and the professional world meet

The end-of-year exhibition of the Design program at Universidad Di Tella once again confirms something we at Estudio CKS especially value: the importance of creating spaces where the academic and professional worlds can meet, engage in dialogue, and share perspectives.

The exhibition not only serves as the culmination of an intensive educational process, but also as a meeting point for students, faculty, and design professionals, where ideas circulate and connections begin to take shape.

The exhibition as a bridge

Each year, Universidad Di Tella organizes this exhibition so students can present their final projects. It is a journey through diverse ideas, processes, and approaches, where not only the final outcome is made visible, but also the strategic and conceptual thinking behind each project.

The exhibition thus establishes itself as a true bridge between academia and professional practice: a space that opens up questions, exchange, and first connections with the working world.

Conversations that add value

From Estudio CKS, we took part in the event with a simple premise: being available to talk. Sharing real, day-to-day professional experiences, listening to concerns, exchanging points of view, and supporting that moment of transition many students experience as they begin to imagine their path beyond the classroom.

Networking happened naturally, through open and approachable conversations, without rigid structures. Questions about processes, teams, clients, learnings, and challenges emerged spontaneously, creating an atmosphere of genuine exchange.

This was complemented by an informal lunch shared by design professionals, faculty members, university leaders, and students. A relaxed setting that encouraged horizontal exchange, where conversations flowed naturally from experience, practice, and the different perspectives on the present and future of the discipline.

A reunion with history

One of the most meaningful moments of the event was reconnecting with Enrique Longinotti, the current program director, who was also my professor at UBA. Meeting again in this context, now from a different place, was a concrete way to see how design is built over time, through relationships, learning experiences, and intertwined career paths.

Universidad Di Tella also shared the event through its institutional channels, highlighting the exhibition and the space for exchange between students, faculty, and design professionals. A perspective that reinforces the importance of these intersections and of collaborative work between academia and the professional field.

The value of these spaces

These kinds of encounters reinforce something we deeply believe in: design is not built in isolation. It is nourished by dialogue, by exchange between generations, and by the opportunity to listen to other experiences.

For students, it is an opportunity to broaden their perspective. For those of us already in professional practice, it is an invitation to return to essential questions and to keep learning as a community.

We celebrate the invitation and the space created by Universidad Di Tella, and we appreciate the opportunity to be part of this gathering through conversation, closeness, and professional exchange.
